Microsoft Windows Advisor Beta Ends
I just received a notice that the Windows Advisor Beta has come to an end and that no additional updates will be made to the program. Microsoft also advises to uninstall the program. I couldn’t seem to find any more information as to why the program has ended or if there is or will be a similar replacement program. I had the program installed on my main desktop and it definitely had some helpful tips over the months. Hopefully this technology will be incorporated into Windows 7.
Microsoft’s Description of Windows Advisor:
Windows Advisor is an easy-to-use self-help tool that notifies users about problems on their PCs and helps fix them. Windows Advisor scans users’ PCs continuously, notifies them about important issues, and, when possible, suggests easy fix solutions. The program also provides users with self-help solutions, such as including a 1-click checkup function that enables them to check their PCs whenever they like; tips and tutorials that teach users how to perform certain actions on their PCs; and a toolbox that concentrates the important tools that are found in the operating system into one easy-to-find location.
