Its been several months since Beta 1 was released, now Microsoft has announced that Beta 2 of Internet Explorer 8 is available. I’ve downloaded and installed the beta and here is a quick overview of the installation process and new features.

Installing…

Now for a reboot…

A new feature called Suggested Sites. It uses your browsing history to make personalized website suggestions. Thanks, but I’ll pass on this.

The “Welcome to Internet Explorer 8” page.

When you open a new tab, IE 8 thoughtfully presents you with a variety of options.

One of those options is a new feature called InPrivateBrowsing. This is feature that allows you to browse the web without storing data about your browsing history including cookies, temporary Internet files, history, etc. For example, if you would like to buy a birthday present for your wife on the family’s shared computer you could do so without her finding it out accidently.

Another neat feature is the color grouping tabs that were opened from the same website. Very handy.

Microsoft has also implemented a SmartScreen Filter for downloads.

And finally… restoring tabs & sessions after crashes!

Scince I downloaded IE8 I cannot play my pogo games. I can go to the web site and I can click on a game, but when I click on the Play Now button, everything freezes and sometimes I get a popup saying Data Execution Prevention has closed Internet Explorer.I would appreciate it so much if someone could tell me how to fix this.
