Free Copy of Vista Ultimate with SP 1 at Microsoft Launch Event

Needless to say I was quite surprised at receiving a free copy of Windows Vista Ultimate with Service Pack 1 at the Windows Server 2008 launch event this week. It was definitely worth going. :)

Mike – I’m getting one of those too. :) Plus I’m an action pack subscriber so I’m supposed to be getting a copy soon in there as well. Ohh.. and I didn’t mention the fact that I took my wife to the Microsoft launch event last week, so I actually snagged two copies!

Ryan – I’m quite aware of that. I’m actually becoming more of a linux kid all the time. Although I’ve been focusing on the server part of linux and not the desktop side of things. Its getting quite frustrating here of late because, for example, I keep wanting to type ls at a Windows command prompt.

First Microsoft cuts the price of Vista… now they are giving away copies at events. What is next?

I just downgraded my laptop from Vista to XP last week. Don’t ask :)

Hey, so I went to the first launch event as well and found the copy of Vista Ultimate in my bag-o-goodies as well…one thing I noticed was that the disc says “32-bit software only”. Now, does the free key they give you work with Vista Ultimate x64? If so, retail, oem or other?
